Job Title: Human Resources Lead

Reports to: Plant Manager

Location: Dana Lugoff, SC Plant

Position Overview:

The HR Manager will work with entity leadership and the Dana Off-Highway Business Unit HR function to provide the Lugoff Plant with Human Resource services and leadership. Additionally, this position will partner with the Off-Highway Americas HR team to successfully implement and manage region-wide strategies and initiatives.

The Lugoff plant is part of Dana's Off-Highway Drive & Motion Technologies business unit and produces a range of axles for our off-highway customers. The plant has approximately 50 employees.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

  • Ensure implementation of Company policies and standardized processes within the Company facility

  • Deploy strategies and programs as designed by the Company, both at the facility and supporting the Off-Highway Americas HR Lead in deploying such strategies and programs across the North America region

  • Assist in defining facility strategies (i.e. training, safety, compliance, labor)

  • Provide feedback to the Facility Leadership, Function and Customers to ensure business needs are met

  • Lead positive employee relations programs in the facility

  • Provide strategic HR solutions to plant manager and staff

  • Assist and facilitate employee development programs from Company Organization Development & Learning Centers of Excellence

  • Facilitate issue resolution between employees and managers, as required

  • Coordinate staffing activities (including recruiting, selections, and placement) for the location

  • Act as a consultant to Business Leaders for Human Resource issues (i.e., career development, staffing, discipline, performance and talent management)

  • Analyze HR metrics and create and implement action plans based on those metrics in line with the Function and/or business objectives

  • Ensure development and implementation of training strategy

  • Work collaboratively with Lean initiatives to ensure success of continuous improvement

  • Help coordinate employee involvement and community involvement teams and/or programs

  • Ensure that Affirmative Action plans are in place and implemented: Participate in any OFCCP audits (US Only)

  • Coordinate facility(s)'s communication efforts (i.e., newsletters, plant meetings, etc)

  • Ensure orientation and induction for newly hired employees and contractors is completed

  • Work with Health & Safety professional to ensure implementation of health & safety programs

  • Work collaboratively with geographic lead to ensure alignment process to region

  • Implement diversity strategy within the facility

Requirements:

Typical Education Required/Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience

Typical Experience Required/Preferred (include management experience or other specifics):

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience as HR generalist in manufacturing facility. Union facility experience required.

  • Strong understanding of HR Law including FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, EEOC, ADEA

  • Natural ability to build strong working relationships with organizational leaders

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customer

  • Union experience (preferred)

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize according to management directives

  • Must have strong problem-solving skills, and creativity

  • Good judgment and use of common sense and tact are extremely important

  • Ability to influence, escalate issues and ideas, and persuade team and positively manage conflict

  • Strong strategic thinking skills

  • Proven leadership abilities

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated people management abilities and ability to work in a team environment

  • Business Acumen

  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work overtime and travel as required

  • Strong computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and prior HRIS exposure are strongly preferred

  • English proficiency required

  • Must be able to work extra hours when necessary

Certifications Required/Preferred:

  • Professional Human Resources (i.e. PHR or SHRM) preferred

About the job: As an Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Operations Manager, you will enable high performance of the supply chain facility by fostering a reliability-centered maintenance culture within your team that ensures high equipment availability and success for the operation of the supply chain facility. You will provide strong leadership to your Maintenance Technicians, Utility Attendants and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Software Technicians, and will cultivate a sense of urgency and quality focus. You will deliver solutions for challenging problems, work with building leaders to optimize use of material handling equipment, manage external contractors, be on call for emergencies, handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet tough timelines. You will develop a continuous improvement ethic in your team by following a daily process that is data driven and focused on root cause elimination. You will improve the reliability of the system through ownership in defect handling, breakdown elimination and planning and scheduling. You will collaborate with the other department leaders to accomplish engineering and maintenance departmental goals. You will be responsible for the leadership & development, coaching, and performance management of the team.
