The HR Intern will learn various aspects of the human resource function and support the HR staff with projects and tasks as follows:

  • Providing support for various audits of HR practices, including auto allowance, Sarbanes-Oxley procedures, background checks in our El Paso location, company car driver's license audit, etc.

  • Assist employees with replacement ID badges, passwords for Ceridian Self-Service and other employee questions.

  • Scheduling training for employees

  • Assist with attendance program

  • Assist with implementation of new HRIS system.

  • Assist with weekly employee orientation program.

  • Assist in recruiting: creating new hire folders, setting up interviews, screening candidates.

  • Assist with company communication monitors.

  • Other projects as assigned.


Required qualifications:

  • Available for work 15-20 hours per week.

  • Actively enrolled in a local Human Resource Bachelor's degree program, preferably with a business background.

  • Previous experience with Microsoft software: Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience with social media from a business perspective

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Services Representative to join their dynamic, collaborative team. The Human Resources Services Representative is responsible as the first point of contact for all Total Rewards (Benefits, Compensation, HR Management Systems, Mobility) customers. The HR Services Representative provides a high level of customer service in response to associate and retiree questions, telephonically and via email. This individual provides administrative and clerical support for Total Rewards. The HR Services Representative is a key resource for the day-to-day administration of Foot Locker Total Rewards programs! * The primary contact responsible for providing a high level of customer service for associates in response to Total Rewards questions * Answers questions, researches information, and assists with problem resolution within Service Level Agreements (SLAs) * Logs all tickets in tracking system * Elevates complex issues and triages to appropriate team members * Responsible for facilitating and coordinate ongoing problem resolution with external and internal customers and vendors * Fully researches issues and shares knowledge with team members * Provides administrative and clerical support for Total Rewards in a timely, accurate, and detail-orientated fashion * Responds to HR Services emails, completing government-required forms, processing enrollment forms, resolving system errors, assisting with Self-Service functionality, offering COBRA, coordinating billing and coverage for COBRA, retiree, and individuals on leave of absence, making HR system updates, run daily queries from PeopleSoft, submit life insurance claims, and processing vendor payments * Responsible for recommending process improvements for Total Rewards administrative processes * Updates documentation in process manual with all changes and reviewing all content at least twice per year * Provides a welcoming and responsive atmosphere, including over the phone, while maintaining high quality customer service * Keeps a confidential environment, maintaining HIPAA standards at all times * Assists with tasks and provide backup to other team members when necessary * Recent graduates or combination of High School diploma and 2+ years of hands-on work experience in Benefits and/or Human Resources * Proven experience successfully working on multiple team projects simultaneously and producing quality deliverables on time * Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) * Experience running queries, utilizing pivot tables and formulas in Excel * PeopleSoft experience preferred * Ability to work independently, have a sense of accountability as well as work cooperatively in a close team environment * Able to prioritize, organize, and pay close attention to detail * Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions * Strong oral and written communication skills * Proficient in operating general office equipment: multi-line phone, fax machine, scanner, and copier Foot Locker Milwaukee WI
