Position Summary:

The Human Resources Intern is a paid position, reports to the Human Resources Supervisor, and works closely with all Inwood HR. Performs all necessary functions with recruiting, safety, and HR duties to support the employee population.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Administrative:

  • Assist the Inwood HR team with recruiting, communications, safety, ordering supplies, meeting notes, and data tracking.

  • Implementing employee safety at work.

  • Coordinates the safety programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.

  • Facilitates all phases of the recruitment process.

  • Assists with job posting and advertising processes.

  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.

  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.

  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with supervisors.

  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process for start dates, and other pertinent details.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to assist the HR team with training manuals, payroll, leave of absence, workman's compensation, employee relations, new processes, equipment training, and employee appreciation.

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in an educational institution or attending in the fall semester

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds routinely, 50 pounds occasionally, and 75 pounds rarely at times.

  • Ability to travel throughout the facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
