JobPurpose

Startingin May the Human Resources Intern will provide administrative/recruitingassistance to the department. The Intern will participate in recruitmentactivities, including screening resumes, conducting phone screens and onsiteinterviews, participating in feedback meetings, and preparing offers. Inaddition, the intern will provide support in various HR functional areas whichinclude training, benefits, and performance management.

Essential Job Duties& Responsibilities

  • Providesadministrative assistance to the HR department.

  • Administersand maintains the applicant tracking system, headcount reports, organizationalcharts, and various tracking spreadsheets

  • Coordinatesvarious HR programs, activities and initiatives, including campus recruitment

  • Coordinatesthe pre-employment candidate screening process, which includes backgroundchecks and drug screening.

  • Coordinatestraining for associates.

  • Answersquestions regarding HR policies and procedures, payroll, and benefits.

Other duties

  • Otherduties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills &Abilities

  • Abilityto work 40 hours during the summer with an opportunity to work 20-25 hoursduring the school year.

  • Excellentoral & written communication skills.

  • Excellentorganizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects to meetdeadlines.

  • Knowledgeof human resources functions to include: benefits, recruitment and training.

  • Strongcomputer skills in a Microsoft Windows/Office environment, specifically Outlookscheduling.

  • Abilityto maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Education and

Experience

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Associate or Bachelor level coursework in human resources preferred.

  • Previousexperience with an applicant tracking system/recruiting preferred.

Contribute ideas for Employee Recognition and Rewards. * Talent Acquisition: Participates in the full life cycle of recruiting, including but not limited to posting on job boards, telephone screening and interview coordination. * Employee Benefits: Assists with the various aspects of the administration of applicable employee benefits. * New Hire Onboarding: Assists with new hire onboarding, including but not limited to applicable documentation and follow up with new employees. * Project Management: Coordinates various Human Resources projects which may include areas such as organizational development, recognition programs, performance management, employee curriculum or training, standardized procedure development and documentation. * Employer Branding: Coordinate with teams to create web page content, job fair materials, employee communications, and social media pages. * Compensation: Track and analyze salary and bonus data to determine appropriate compensation for employees. To be considered for this position you must have: * Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or other related field * Coursework, knowledge or experience in Human Resources * A strong interest in a career in Human Resources * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Strong attention to detail * Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment * Good follow-through skills * Ability to work independently with limited supervision * Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
