Job Description:

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

The HR Intern will combine their education with practical HR experience in core HR areas such as employee relations, compensation, recruitment, talent management and diversity. Assignments may include projects requiring research & trend analysis, benchmarking, assisting in the development of communication packages, conducting research on emerging HR issues, or project management, problem analysis and solution implementation related to HR initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist HR managers with a variety of duties

  • Help support new hire orientation

  • Provide recruitment support

  • Other projects as assigned

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current College Junior/Senior level pursuing Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

  • Basic knowledge of current laws and pending legislation in HR area

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Extensive PC, Internet, and social media skills

  • Maintains confidentiality; acts ethically and with integrity

  • Problem solving skills in dealing with HR issues. Organized and works well under pressure. Manages multiple tasks, prioritize work, and work in a fast-paced, detail oriented environment with minimal direction

This is a role that provides direction, consultation, and leadership to drive business goals and objectives. In this role, you will build partnerships with key stakeholders in the business and identify and implement strategic human capital solutions that support the current and future needs of the business. This HR professional is a strategic partner in implementing initiatives related to attracting, developing and retaining a talented and engaged workforce. Key areas of responsibility include talent acquisition, employee engagement and retention, talent management, leadership development, performance management, compliance management, employee relations and management consultation. Essential Job Functions: * Partner with call center business leaders to provide human resources solutions that encourage effective business decisions and builds employee engagement and retention. * Establish strong partnership relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. * Proactively drive employee engagement by conducting Focus Group meetings, Skip Level meetings, and One-on-One's to determine opportunities to increase employee engagement, drive productivity and prevent third party representation. * Identify roadblocks to business goals and objectives and partner with HR and executive leadership to resolve/address. * Ensure employees are in compliance with company policy, procedures and values as well as federal, state and local laws. * Assist in development of talent planning and succession planning for client groups and their leadership team. * Attend client staff meetings to establish business knowledge and develop strong relationships with key leaders. * Partner with HR team within department, corporate HR, recruiting, compensation in order to provide best-in-class HR support to business clients. Job Requirements: * Ability to multi-task and drive results in a fast-paced, complex environment. * Demonstrated ability to coach others to improve performance. * Ability to make recommendations to resolve problems by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, and state and federal law. * Strong verbal and written communication skills to include training presentation skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to flex communication style to all levels of an organization. * Ability to conduct confidential investigations related to possible employee relations, EEO, security, safety and other policy violations. * Ability to research and analyze various types of data and present to leadership. * 2+ years of strong HR Generalist/Business Partner experience including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, compensation, HR project management supporting large non-exempt population level clients. * Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management, or related field or equivalent experience. * Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
