Job Overview

As Human Resources Generalist, you will serve as the People lead in our Lehi, UT location.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day operational support to employees and managers with organizational and People initiatives, queries, and issues, working closely with the New York City People team
  • Maintain employee records in our PEO system and update payroll and benefit information as needed
  • Onboarding of new employees: both design and implementation
  • Manage all compliance related activities including background checks, I9 verifications, workers compensation, and audits related to all statutory and legal requirements
  • Ensure all people processes and programs developed are in alignment with the companys core values and culture
  • Assist in reviewing people data to develop key metrics and measure employee engagement and retention
  • Champion the Via service, brand, and culture

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in HR and recruitment
  • Reliable, mature, and able to juggle multiple tasks effectively
  • A deep and wide background in employee relations and HR processes
  • A tactful, and graceful communicator you intuitively find the right tone in every situation and are natural at collaborating
  • Tech savvy, with a strong understanding of the landscape of HR and recruitment products
  • A natural collaborator who can quickly integrate well across all functions
  • Experience with change management
  • Bachelors Degree with a strong academic record

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Description CHARACTERISTICS OF WORK Under general supervision, this position is responsible for operating a single axle truck and/or operating a tractor and attached mowing apparatus, and performing various road maintenance functions. EXAMPLES OF WORK The following examples are intended only as illustrations of various types of work performed. No attempt is made to be exhaustive. Related, similar, or other logical duties are performed as assigned. The Department may require employees to perform functions beyond those contained in job descriptions. The Department may modify job descriptions based on Department needs. The Arkansas Department of Transportation is an "at will" employer. * Maintain control of grass and weeds by mowing using large tractors and gang mowers. * Perform landscape maintenance on the highway rights of way and facilities using industrial weed eaters, brush hooks, chain saws, pole saws, limb saws and other small power equipment. * Operate single axle dump truck, hauling highway construction or maintenance materials in the performance of assigned duties. * Use jackhammers and small hand tools (such as shovels and rakes) to make repairs to highways. * Load, unload, and stack bags of salt, sand, cement, chemicals, etc. * Pick up litter (including large tires, dead animals, garbage, etc.). * Paint sign posts, guard rails, etc. * Flag traffic. * Perform regular servicing and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. * Respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week (such as natural disasters, severe weather, traffic accidents, etc.). * Work during ice and snow removal operations. Minimum Requirements Ability to learn and work with simple hand tools and small power equipment. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Ability to move heavy objects and materials. Ability to learn to operate a single axle truck and tractor. Good knowledge of local street and highway names/numbers. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language and to make entries on reports and records. Valid driver's license required. Applicants for this position must obtain a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker ("N") endorsement within 180 calendar days of hire. Failure to obtain the required CDL certification within the 180-day period may result in immediate termination. Successful applicants must meet the physical and mental requirements for a CDL. A pre-employment drug/alcohol test will be conducted after a contingent offer of employment or transfer has been made, and prior to the candidate performing any work for the Department in that capacity. Internal applicants who are already in a safety-sensitive position will not be subject to pre-employment drug/alcohol testing; however, offers to internal applicants who are not in a safety-sensitive position will be contingent upon pre-employment drug/alcohol testing. Subject to additional drug/alcohol testing according to the provisions of the ArDOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
