JOB OVERVIEW
This position performs Human Resources Generalist support in multiple areas of HR including but not limited to:
Policy and procedure,
Job analysis/evaluation
Staffing/recruitment
Job classification
Compensation administration
Employee/labor relations
Safety/workers' compensation
Performance management
Training/development
Employee investigations
Employment separations
Reporting/record keeping

This position will act as the direct HR support liaison for one or more assigned departmental work units or facilities.
This position requires strong analytical skills along with considerable proficiency in the use of a personal computer. Highly developed organizational skills will be required.
Must have the ability to: accurately interpret statute and policy; speak and write articulately and effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with Department staff, managers and partners; organize multiple and varied work responsibilities effectively; and counsel people in stressful situations.
Must be, or be able to become, familiar with State of Montana personnel policies and procedures, Workers' Compensation, and FMLA. Must have, or be able to acquire, knowledge of labor law as it affects public employees. Must be able to read and interpret collective bargaining agreements and understand grievance procedures as well as other practices and procedures detailed within collective bargaining agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field and two years of dedicated human resources experience is required.
