Please visit our website for additional background on our business platform – www.secondavenue.com Job Summary The HR Generalist Coordinates human resources activities including but not limited to employment, payroll, onboarding and orientation, benefits, and employee relations.

This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, HRIS management, support to the Director of HR, and internal employee communications. Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate daily HR functions, such as corresponding with employees, onboarding duties, and other human resource processes. Oversees all onboarding process for all employees; Prepare and conduct new employee orientation as needed.

Responsible for various new hire processes such as E-Verify, I-9 compliance, background screenings, etc. Responsible for auditing all new hires and terminations to ensure compliance with company processes and procedures assuring all documents are signed and uploaded to personnel file. Auditing of all employee personnel files to ensure compliance of all required documents.

Assist with the preparation of the performance review process. Maintains Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) records, ensuring data accuracy through self- audits and reports. Assists with coordinating meetings, events and activities with the HR department staff and Company.

Assist with employee benefits inquiries and open enrollment. Responsible for employment verifications and background checks. Responsible for all payroll processing and procedures.

Monitors 401k, benefits, and HRIS system for tax compliance, EEO-1 reporting, Workers Compensation reporting, and other related tasks. Responsible for monitoring wage garnishments, uploading into payroll, and responding to unemployment claims. Assists with and handles employee relations and performance management questions.

Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise. Work with the Corporate Recruiter as needed for hiring and offer letter processes. Provides support in interviewing and recruiting candidates as needed.

Assist the HR Director with company-wide trainings and materials as needed. Monitors, assists with, and tracks all FMLA and STD leave requests. Stay abreast of state laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Works with the Administrative Assistant and HR Director to plan and implement employee engagement activities and programs. Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire, employee turnover, etc. Assists with company surveys.

Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of HR policies. Responsible for tracking Workers Compensation claims. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Proficient MS Office skills. Excellent attention to detail. Highly organized and self-motivated.

Able to consistently meet deadlines. Able to solve problems in sometimes ambiguous situations. Sense of urgency and desire to render excellent service.

Knowledge of employee relations procedures. Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems and functions. Aptitude in problem-solving.

Good knowledge of employment/labor laws. Strong empathy and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and analytically driven.

Understand general human resources policies and procedures. Education and Experience Minimum bachelor’s degree preferred. 2 years HR experience in an HR Generalist role. Experience with ADP preferred/a plus.

SHRM-CP or PHR preferred. Job Competencies Sense of urgency and desire to render excellent customer service. Solid ability to manage processes and to effectively review reports and images and take appropriate action relative to findings.

Ability to organize workload, to prioritize activities and follow-up appropriately. Attention to detail and ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Able to handle sensitive information and situations with the utmost confidentiality.
