Job Description/Responsibilities

The Human Resources Generalist provides HR support for Buffalo Trace Distillery. They are a steward of the desired culture, providing knowledgeable and professional guidance, administers HR functions such as compliance with employment laws and regulations, policies and programs, and collective bargaining agreements; maintenance of employment records, hiring and staffing; onboarding; data collection and analysis; accurate maintenance of HRIS systems; benefits, and training and development.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a fast paced environment

  • Proven time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks at one time

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills

  • Strong computer skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Detail oriented

Desired Qualifications

  • 5-10 years relevant experience

  • PHR/SPHR certification

  • Ability to quickly learn new systems/processes

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment

The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, andbe personable. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * Provides technical assistance to agency management regarding personnel administration. * Collects information from supervisors, prepares paperwork for approval, and submits action packets to the cabinet for review, approval, and processing. * Counsels management on disciplinary procedures and prepares preliminary paperwork review by the cabinet. * Gathers information including witness statements, performance incident log, performance evaluations, and historical disciplinary information for submission to the cabinet for further review. * Liaison between cabinet and department employees. * Provides first line guidance and counseling to employees regarding benefits such as workers compensation, health & life insurance, FMLA and sick leave sharing procedures and time & pay issues. * Counsels employees and management on performance evaluations procedures. * Audits evaluations for accuracy and compliance with evaluation regulations. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in personnel administration, or requisite skills. The experience, training, or skills requirement cannot be met with only requisite skills. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in the preparation, review, and/or processing of personnel, payroll, or employee benefits documents will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
