TITLE: Human Resource Generalist DEPARTMENT: Human Resources REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources OVERALL DESCRIPTION: Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employment, employee relations, labor relations, and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment:
Maintain job vacancy postings and track open positions.
Coordinate authorization of job postings.
Review applications and interview candidate to match experience with specific job related requirements.
Manage the pre-employment process including extending the offer of employment, collection of new hire paperwork, and communicating and coordinating with Administrators/Managers regarding start date.
Participate in new hire orientation program.
Keep records for monthly Board action.
Set up and maintain complete and accurate personnel files/records.
Conduct exit interviews; analyze data and make recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement.
Employee Relations:
Conduct basic employee relations counseling, and exit interviewing.
Process salary schedule placement adjustments and other status changes.
Maintain and post seniority lists in compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements
Respond to administrator/management and staff requests and facilitate clear and timely communication.
Assure adherence to terms of labor contracts by monitoring day-to-day implementation of agreements concerning wages, hours and working conditions.
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
HRIS
Maintain accurate and timely staff information in the District HR/payroll system (Skyward)
Prepare and distribute timely communication regarding employment status, salary and benefit eligibility
Maintain accurate and timely information in the Time and Attendance system (Kronos)
Facilitate state/regional reporting and audit requirements
Run ad hoc reports as requested
Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Minimum 3 years Human Resources related experience
General knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in record keeping.
The ability to research and analyze various different type of data information
Effective oral and written communication.
Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
Demonstrates high level of confidentiality.
Excellent organizational skills.
Knowledge of Skyward and Kronos preferred
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred

Salary and Benefits determined by the Board of Education.
Starting Salary - $61,800 annually or higher commensurate with equivalent work experience
