The Human Resources Generalist contributes to a range of human resources programs: recruitment and selection, onboarding, HRIS administration, benefits administration, performance management, training and development, employee recognition, payroll and records management. The Human Resources Generalist provides excellent customer service to employees by responding to HR-related inquiries. Acts as a liaison with external vendors for recruiting, benefits, and other HR programs.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field preferred. Minimum of five years of progressive Human Resources experience is required. Knowledge of employment law and general HR practices as well as practical experience recruiting and administering benefits is required. Experience in payroll administration or support is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience presenting in small groups and one-on-one settings is required.

Ability to apply knowledge and principals of HR functions to solve problems and effectively address situations. Must use independent judgment and discretion to determine or recommend best course of action. Must be able to interface effectively at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Outstanding attention to detail and follow-up is essential. Ability to take the initiative on assigned projects/tasks and work with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports full-cycle recruitment processes for assigned positions. Sources, schedules, and interviews candidates; manages candidate correspondence and collaborates with external vendors, when needed.

  • Prepares and extends offers of employment, prepares new hires for onboarding and orientation, ensures the accurate completion of all new hire paperwork, and enters information into the HRIS.

  • Develops, revises, and conducts orientation sessions for new staff.

  • Leads biweekly payroll processes in conjunction with the Accounting and Finance team; capturing compensation and benefit updates, new hire enrollments and other employee updates.

  • Maintains HR reports and compiles data for compliance reporting, total compensation statements and other ad-hoc requests.

  • Plays a key role in Open Enrollment by updating the online enrollment system, preparing education materials and conducting information sessions.

  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans; processes enrollment, cancellation or changes for benefits and payroll systems; takes a lead role with processing Open Enrollment changes for entry within HRIS or other vendor systems; researches and resolves benefits-related inquiries from staff.

  • Prepares compensation and award letters biannually.

  • Assists with the performance management process by administering the online performance management system and following-up with staff.

  • Coordinates the wellness program.
