Our precision technology manufacturing capabilities complement our proven electronic manufacturing expertise by providing further vertical integration of critical mechanical components. These capabilities include precision machining, advanced metal joining, assembly and functional testing for multiple industries including medical, instrumentation, aerospace and semiconductor capital equipment. Benchmark can provide specialized engineering services, including product design, printed circuit board layout, prototyping, automation and test development. We believe that we have developed strengths in the manufacturing process for large, complex, high-density printed circuit boards as well as the ability to manufacture high and low volume products in regions such as China, Malaysia, Mexico, Romania and Thailand. Our Moorpark, CA location is looking for a Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for daily Human Resource functions to include, but not limited to, employee relations, recruitment, process payroll, procedures and legal obligations.

  • Ability to work weekends and off-shifts, as needed

  • Ability to travel to other Benchmark locations, as needed

  • Intermediate knowledge of work processing, spreadsheets and presentation programs

Qualifications / Education / Experience

  • Involved with documentation related to co-worker counseling, performance appraisals and other required documentation, as well as disciplinary action up to and including termination and making hiring decisions

  • Help co-workers and supervisors settle work-related conflicts through counsel and recommendations

  • Act as a resource to employees/leaders/managers regarding employee issues and interpreting Company policies, procedures and benefits

  • May be responsible for one or more HRIS processes

  • Assist in developing department goals, objectives and systems

  • Contribute to ensuring that actions related to Affirmative Action compliance are in place and being adhered to

  • Develop and place employment and other community related ads

  • Assist in overseeing the on-site organization and coordination of production staffing

  • Assist in monitoring and supporting company policies and procedures and federal/state regulations, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, sexual harassment investigations, etc.

  • Conduct exit interviews with staff to determine if corrective actions may retain valued staff

  • May contribute to any employee communications vehicles

  • Participate in various employee training classes

  • May coordinate and actively participate in new co-worker orientations, interviews or specific subject matter training

  • Perform department audits

  • Perform routine plant tours

  • Ensure time cards for payroll processing are approved and run payroll reports for Corporate to process payroll

  • May perform other duties as necessary to support the HR function or Division

  • Work with senior Human Resource management in a variety of employee relations situations; Offer recommendations for courses of action and resolution

  • Assist in overseeing others in Human Resources and as the Designate in human resource management absence

  • Primary focus for monitoring and updating the Affirmative Action Plan, as required

  • Address and recommend resolutions to more complex issues involving any of the Human Resource programs (benefits, employee relations, etc.)

  • May serve as the Editor for any regular employee communications vehicles

  • May oversee/train others in the department or be the designated HR management representative in the absence of that management

  • 3+ years of working experience in Human Resources; manufacturing experience preferred

  • 4 year degree in Human Resources or related degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
