SUMMARY

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level to support the business. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits, training, performance management, employee relations, onboarding, retention, exit interviews, policy implementation, recruitment, compensation, and employment law compliance. The incumbent must have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and to work independently with a sense of urgency and provide timely responses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote core values and company culture

  • Handle all employee owner requests with exceptional communication and provide timely responses

  • Support benefits open enrollments and assist with benefit carrier file feeds

  • Manage recruitment process by posting open positions in ATS, screening qualified candidates, scheduling interviews, and providing feedback on candidates to the hiring manager

  • Create and extend offer to chosen candidates and support the onboarding and orientation process for new hires

  • Maintain and update HRIS records and compile reports from the database

  • Facilitate an accurate completion of company-wide EEO and VETS reports

  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations

  • Manage the performance evaluation program and revise as necessary, monitor, measure, and report on Performance Improvement Plans, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales

  • Assist with management of HB Global compensation program

  • Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience

  • Administer all FMLA/STD/LTD requests and manage the process

  • Oversee the termination process and conduct exit interviews to report on retention

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • AA, BA or BS in Human Resources Management or related business program from an accredited college or university.

  • Accredited certification, i.e. SHRM-CP or PHR, helpful and considered in lieu of college degree.

  • 2-5 years of human resources generalist-level work in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Must have general understanding of HR regulations, FLSA (federal & state), FMLA, ADA, ADEA, OSHA, EEO, PDA, EPA, Title VII etc.

  • High proficiency with MS Office products.

  • Experience in shared services environment preferred

  • Criminal background check required for hire

  • Expert level proficiency in Excel, Word, and HRIS. Ability to perform word processing, database, and accounting functions

Runs reports and sends notifications regarding Employee Performance Reviews (EPRs) that are coming due. Reviews EPRs for quality assurance and appropriate action. Tracks EPRs for client agencies.</p><p>Uploads, certifies, and purges documents in the electronic official personnel files (E-OPF) for the employees of the agencies served by the delivery center. Scans original documents and uses Abledoc software to file the documents. Ensures quality control for the filing of documents and shredding of originals after the electronic filing is successful. Much of this work is performed by clerical staff in this unit. Serves as the liaison with the HR Service Center and other Delivery Centers regarding e-OPFs and ensures the timely approvals of requests to review e-OPFs.</p><p>Assists with file management at the Labor &amp; Industry location.</p><p>Provides ad hoc reports using available SAP and IRIS resources, such as the monthly EPR reports.</p><p>Performs the HR Review for the Commonwealth's yearly financial disclosure program.</p><p>Participates in a variety of human resource program areas, performing duties such as gathering data from publications, files, and interviews, analyzing data, recommending appropriate activity, and substantiating recommended actions.</p><p>Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor, Workplace Support Section Manager, and the EBR HR Delivery Center Manager.</p><p>Interested in learning more? In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.
