HR Generalist
The Opportunity:
The Human Resources Generalist provides a variety of support with human resource processes within Great Lakes Dredge & Dock. This role provides support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry and special projects to support the HR Operations. The position is located in our Houston, TX corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities:
Processes changes in ADP, new hires, pay changes, promotions, terminations, etc.
Coordinates with HR team to administer and support onboarding process. Includes reviewing and recording all documents and creating/maintaining electronic personnel files
Manages the employment verification third party vendor
Responds to unemployment claims
Coordinates & schedules employee's physical, functional exams and drug screening and log all results
Conducts employee exit interviews
Compiles and analyze data for bid requests
Audits ADP entries, create payrules
Maintains job description library
Performs workplace investigations
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
Processes general HR invoices
Ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
Responds to various calls and emails received from the project sites
Assists with various HR projects
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in human resources or related field
1-3 years experience in the Human Resources field
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint is a plus)
Experience and working knowledge of ADP preferred
Initiative, excellent organizational skills, the ability to work within a team and to work independently, managing multiple priorities simultaneously
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive employee information
Flexible, ability to execute well in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization
Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations within all levels of the organization
