The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR generalist duties and payroll processing for the Museum, including administering employee changes into ADP, payroll processing, ongoing administration of employee policies, and managing employee records. The HR Generalist also assists with orientation, onboarding, and training new employees, as well as other related activities.
This position is hybrid, working both remote and onsite.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources:
Own and deliver new hire ADP onboarding and assist with orientation; provide updates and incorporate best practices to ensure a welcoming experience for new employees
Answer frequently asked questions from new hires and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level staff member
Maintain and develop employee policies, keep abreast of regulatory changes and compliance
Monthly budget reconciliation, invoice processing, and expense tracking for the Human Resources department
Manages verification of employment
Serve as backup for conducting exit interviews
Assist in annual compliance training administration
Assist in event planning and administration for internal HR organized events
Provide excellent customer service, internal and external
Perform other duties as assigned
Payroll:
Perform payroll data entry, new hire profile creation, and timely bi-weekly payroll processing administration
Manages timesheet oversight, approvals, and bi-weekly processing
Process necessary documents from payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
Manages pre-tax transportation programs and remittance
Perform HRIS reporting, including monthly reporting for senior management
Running regular audits of HR data, maintaining all HR databases, report issues to be corrected, and design and maintain customized HR reports
Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files
Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriate
Support compensation planning; review pay grades for all positions and create & maintain job families
Performs benchmarking and completes salary survey on behalf of the organization
Qualifications and Working Conditions:
Bachelors Degree and 3+ years of administrative experience in HR, including payroll; will consider an Associates degree and 5+ years of administrative experience in HR
Strong experience in and knowledge of payroll processing
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information systems (HRIS), and similar computer applications; ADP experience preferred
Highly proficient with spreadsheets (Excel and Google) and data analysis and manipulation
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
Pay Range:$52,500- $56,500
