Edelman New York is seeking a dynamic ambassador, trusted business partner and consummate team player to join our human resources team as Human Resources Generalist. You'll be joining a collaborative team that is passionate about the work they do to support, grow, and retain the best talent in our industry.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage local and/or regional core human resource activities (employee relations, benefits, leave of absence, PTO, orientation & onboarding, and performance management processes) as assigned.

  • Diplomatically navigate and leverage resources and stakeholders to provide mutually-beneficial solutions to problems, conflicts and/or employee relations issues.

  • Understand and display judgment regarding full scope of work, applicable laws and policies, internal and external culture and the firm's vision, mission and values.

  • Administer approved company-wide employee relations policies and practices, where applicable.

  • Partners with recruiting and HR team to lead NY Summer Internship Program.

  • Actively participate in Diversity & Inclusion initiatives for NY.

  • Support manager(s) and/or regional HR leader with additional projects, as requested.

  • Live Edelman values, lead by example and hold team members accountable to performance competencies and behavior expectations.


  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills

  • You have strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects

  • You possess good judgment and the ability to uphold confidentiality

  • You're self-motivated and able to work proactively

  • You're a problem-solver, consistently finding creative and efficient ways to improve your work

  • Three to five years, progressive experience in human resources or a related field


  • BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in innovative HR management in a professional services environment

  • Ability to and experience overseeing multiple projects and prioritizing appropriately under pressure

  • Ability to and experience in effectively managing and coaching people

  • Ability to and experience in efficiently and creatively solving problems

  • Ability to and experience in effectively leading trainings and presentations

  • Understanding of applicable employment laws and experience managing employee relations situations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
