Reporting to the Manager of Employee Relations and HR Policy, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing HR consultation and service delivery to assigned groups including, but not limited to, the distribution center, transportation, facilities support and culinary center teams and will align HR programs and initiatives to achieve business goals. This is a multi-disciplinary HR role which will focus on delivering employee relations and training as well as other project work as needed.
1.Work closely with management personnel to understand business priorities. Perform tactical delivery of HR
services and programs. Work with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to develop and deliver initiatives to meet
unique business needs and support the delivery of company-wide HR services, programs, and initiatives.
2.Orient and train team members using established systems and processes. Provide day-to-day performance
management guidance (coaching, counseling, career development, etc.), benefits administration, administer
compensation programs for assigned work groups, and utilize HR technology and systems to support business
3.Working with line management, provide advice regarding employee relations matters and as necessary,
conduct formal investigations in response to complaints ensuring that management actions are in compliance
with appropriate state, federal and local laws.
4.Provide guidance to line management on HR policies and procedures. Respond to questions from team
members and management in a timely manner. Provide input and advice on matters such as organizational
change management, workforce planning and group culture.
5.Participate in the development of new HR programs, policies and resources.
6.Work closely with management on union grievances as it relates to record keeping and responding to the
grievance in a timely manner and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
7.Other assigned duties as designated by management
Regularly interfaces with department heads, human resources COE's and other corporate functional groups.
Minimum Education: Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, business or other related discipline
Minimum Experience: 0-2 years of experience in multiple-disciplinary HR including experience with unions and labor relations.
Preferred Experience: 5 years of experience supporting a distribution, manufacturing or transportation business. Multi-lingual capabilities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
Ability to influence line managers
Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in multiple HR disciplines
Solid technical skills in MS Office and web-based HR software such as HRIS, ATS, etc.
Other: Physical Ability to read, write, type, etc.
Travel Some traveling is required to terminal locations and store locations (as needed)
Hours & Conditions 8:30AM 5:00PM M-F with flexibility to support other shifts as needed
