This dynamic customer service-oriented position supports and contributes to creating and sustaining high performing work teams committed to achieving Village outcomes. This human resources generalist position performs advanced-level work in human resource administration with a strong emphasis on recruitment.
Recruitment activities include writing job descriptions, job announcements, and interview questions; participating on interview panels; conducting background screenings; and conducting new employee orientation sessions. This position also performs classification and compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, and other human resources functions. The employee works closely with Village management to ensure human resources activities are in alignment with organization goals.
The employee also provides assistance to employees related to salary, benefits, and employee relations; to external customers related to employment; and to outside vendors related to activities performed by the Human Resources program. Communication with supervisors, managers, and employees is a constant part of each day.
The knowledge and skills needed to be successful in this position are typically gained through the attainment of a bachelor's degree with major coursework in human resources management, or a related field and two years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of Human Resources Management. A strong background with recruitment activities is required. Public sector experience desirable.
