Responsibilities

  • Develops recruitment, onboarding, training and enrichment and retention programs for human resources.

  • Remains informed, networked and current in CA regulations and guidelines to ensure labor law compliance.

  • Reduces risk through timely communication to management of safety and/or labor issues.

  • Coordinates manager trainings and keeps all managers updated and informed in labor practices, interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment policies.

  • Advises and assists management with informed, timely and appropriate resolution of employee related issues.

  • Investigates accidents, implements a prevention solution, and prepares reports for insurance carrier.

  • Administers benefit programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence and employee assistance.

  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding, policies, procedures and programs appropriately and consistently.

  • Updates human resource materials to ensure managers have current and timely materials to attract, enhance and retain a skilled, qualified and dedicated team.

  • Documents labor issues with timely and accurate comprehensive facts and obtains appropriate signatures.

  • Maintains all employee paper and electronic files as required by company policy and in compliance with federal and state labor and tax law.

  • Processes payroll through ADP, performs payroll month end functions and reconciliations.

  • Performs month end payroll related journals and accruals into JDE.

  • Supports the Accounting and Finance team with data entry, reconciliations, and journal entries.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources.

  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist with increasing HR professional advancement.

  • Knowledge of employment laws: FLSA, FMLS, Worker Compensation, EEO, ADA and CA labor law.

  • HR certifications with strong HR networks and professional memberships.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Verbal and written bilingual skills are desirable for this position.

  • Highly proficient in HRIS systems (ADP a plus) for diligent and timely payroll processing and reporting.

  • Expertise in MS Office; Excel, Word and Powerpoint is required.

  • Highly Proficient AIS systems data entry skills are required (JDE a plus).
