Location: This role will be located on-site in our Pittsburgh, PA Service Center
The HR Generalist will provide overall HR and employee relations support for the end-to-end colleague experience, aligned with company culture and values. This role will provide support to leaders, managers and colleagues in the Pittsburgh, PA location and across other locations within the business, to provide guidance and assistance on Human Resources programs, processes and employee relations issues, helping to ensure a fair and consistent approach that aligns with organizational policies and procedures.
Provide HR services as described in the HR service catalogue; delivering a positive and constructive colleague and manager experience. Ensure that service delivery operates within defined service levels for timeliness, quality and cost.
Ensure compliance with country/jurisdiction laws and regulations for business as usual and for integration/ harmonization subsequent to any merger/acquisition/transfer of undertaking.
Collaborate with other Regional HR Delivery teams and with Global HR Operations, Talent Advisors and Centers of Excellence to provide seamless colleague experience utilizing the technology enabled tiered HR support model and global processes.
Reports to HR Generalist Lead.
Role model for the delivery of HR services through the HR operating model and a strong performance culture in local jurisdiction/country.
Coach people managers to undertake their responsibilities as described in the HR Service Catalogue, utilizing global HR technology, global processes and the tiered HR support model. For example, the implementation of global human resource processes for performance management and compensation planning.
Support the implementation of inclusion and diversity strategy and initiatives in-country; initiated for Willis Towers Watson globally and by the business locally.
In partnership with legal and compliance functions, monitor the regulatory environment to ensure ongoing compliance; recommending and implementing change as required. Where applicable, maintain employment documentation such as handbooks and standard employment contract terms in collaboration with company and local employment law function.
Ensure that HR delivery activity complies with all company employment practices and applicable country/jurisdiction laws and regulations; for business as usual and for integration/harmonization subsequent to any merger/acquisition/transfer of undertaking. Ensure that inclusion and diversity is promoted and underpins all HR service delivery.
Give support to COEs to implement HR services, identifying and handling exceptions specific to country, and providing input to initiatives/process that includes the communication and engagement requirements. Where applicable, ensure that benefit programs are administered and maintained in accordance with the company benefits governance processes. Undertake activities related to global mobility services, supporting the COE to achieve a streamline process for the assignee/transferee and the managers.
Take responsibility for the development of own capability, supported by people manager, and for sharing ideas for continuous improvement in the function. Where responsible for other HR Generalists and/or HR Administrators, ensure these colleagues are coached and provided with access to tools, training and information to enable excellent service execution and their own personal development.
Demonstrate broad-based HR knowledge and experience in providing on-site support to Service Center and other department Managers and Supervisors on end to end colleague life cycle processes: sourcing and selection; onboarding; benefits; performance management, rewards (including pay construct variations); engagement, development and end of assignments
Establish and maintain effective relationships with business stakeholders and colleagues; develop understanding of business drivers and how the line of business grows revenue and increases market share.
Manage and handle employee relations policies and issues; ensuring adherence to unique jurisdictional requirements and the determination of policy. This will include colleague life cycle events, workplace investigations and the implications of business change.
Provide effective case management of issues such as disciplinary action, performance management, resolution of colleague complaints and facilitation of termination and exit processes for involuntary separations.
Provide guidance on a variety of human resources related issues (i.e. Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), wage and hour, harassment, Americans with Disabilities (ADA), discrimination, colleague disputes, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), etc.) to ensure effective, legally compliant resolutions are established efficiently and within company guidelines.
Provide interpretive guidance on HR policies, practices, and procedures.
Understand employee life cycle processes and interdependencies. See the connections in processes as they extend beyond the boundaries of HR to other corporate functions; work collaboratively to involve other corporate functions and business systems experts to address and mitigate potential downstream and upstream issues or impacts.

Delivery through measurements of timeliness and responsiveness, avoidance of query escalation and/or employment disputes.
5+ years experience within a Human Resources function of an organization that delivers a breadth of HR services to colleagues and managers.
Demonstrated ability to achieve the effective delivery of HR services through disciplined execution and through fact-based decisions in a growing/changing business environment.
Prior experience in a Service Center environment preferred
Bachelor's degree, MS and/or SPHR preferred
Strong collaboration skills and experience working with and across multiple functional areas of HR and with multiple levels
In-depth knowledge of current federal and state employment law and legislation
Ability to analyze problems and provide objective and sound guidance
Organized, highly motivated and a quick learner; able to work with limited supervision
Proactive, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment, which demands a high level of energy and commitment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel 10-20%, along with the ability to manage assignments in a virtual environment
Collaborative approach, confident communicator, flexible and-client focused, and a strong work ethic. In-depth knowledge of human resources policy and practice, and ability to quickly understand jurisdictional regulations/legislation. Proactive in identifying opportunities to educate business leaders/managers/colleagues on evolving processes.
