The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Human Resources Generalist who will partner with site business leaders to support associates at our Paris, KY chemical manufacturing facility.

This role will be a full-time, onsite position at our Paris, KY facility. The HR Generalist in this role will be responsible for providing tactical and strategic HR support in the areas of employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, and HR analysis / reporting. What we're looking for

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience required.

  • Experience: 3+ years of Human Resources generalist experience

  • Experience supporting manufacturing / distribution centers preferred and multi-site experience a plus.

  • Must have a proven track record of relationship building with both internal and external customers.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to handle employee conflicts and differences by interpreting verbal/ non-verbal behavior, detecting perceptions and needs of employees, understanding and valuing employee differences

  • Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to understand business strategy and goals.

  • Able to work independently, take initiative, maintain relationships and be able to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels within the organization.

  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude for personal learning and HR career development.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office and HRIS systems (preferably Workday)

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Primary responsibilities and focus of the role are providing day-to-day tactical support to functional line leaders and associates within the Avantor - Paris, KY site.

  • Assists the HRBP to implement key strategic HR processes and programs.

  • Helps support and champion organizational change and talent initiatives as necessary.

  • Conducts employee relation investigations and facilitates effective communications and collaborative problem-solving strategies to prevent or resolve employee relations issues under the direction of the HRBP.

  • Works with line leaders on talent management processes such as goal setting, providing appropriate feedback during performance appraisals, and assists in creating individual development plans in support of a performance driven culture.

  • Creates HR analytics to identify trends and opportunities; assists HRBP to develop strategies and tactics based on those trends.

  • Participates in functional staff meetings and provides HR insights on business issues when necessary.

  • Assists in projects and/or participates as a project team member on company-wide HR initiatives.

  • Assists in implementing Avantor HR policies and procedures as well as monitoring the effectiveness of these programs. Assists assigned functional teams with the understanding of these programs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
