The company's consumer brand is Paradise Meadow with products sold domestically in over 10,000 locations.

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for providing overall HR support and communications to management and employees. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of Human Resources administration. In addition, the successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations which are critical for this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare onboarding materials for orientation and conduct orientation

  • Maintain employee files, ensuring accuracy, compliance and paperwork completion

  • Coordinate all benefits administration including annual open enrollment, research employee inquiries as needed, process new hire benefits enrollment, COBRA administration, conduct monthly billing verification, and manage benefit vendor file feeds

  • A focal point and "go to person" for employees and managers' questions by interpreting human resources policies, programs, and procedures, and inform employees and management on their proper application

  • Process payroll

  • Updating policies, procedures, and programs, including the Employee Handbook

  • Assist managers with employee performance issues including disciplinary write ups

  • Coordinate the performance management cycle; communicate timeline and process to managers

  • Assist in the development of people strategy/programs that will deliver significant benefits to the business, including but not limited to employee learning, talent management, employee engagement, rewards and recognition and change management initiatives

  • Assist in the prompt resolution of employee relations issues, working closely with management and external consultant to investigate and determine appropriate course of action

  • Participate in Manufacturing/Operations team meetings, specifically the Safety and Training meetings as well as production meetings, when needed

  • Assist in the coordination of company sponsored events, meetings and activities including summer party, holiday party, flu shot clinic, blood drives, regional grower meetings, etc.; active member of the Culture Club

  • Encourage a workplace culture that demands consistent, respectful, ethical and lawful treatment of all employees enabling them to do their best work every day

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field is required

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' human resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Professional HR Certification (PHR, SPHR) is highly desirable

  • Knowledgeable of general employment laws and practices; strong attention to detail

  • Flexibility and multi-tasking; ability to undertake several tasks simultaneously and manage them effectively

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, poise, tact, and diplomacy to accomplish work objectives

  • Problem solving, the ability to identify root cause, realize, and implement solutions

  • Demonstrates vision, passion, commitment, and integrity, transparency, taking responsibility and building trust

  • A strong team player with a positive attitude and ability to absorb and learn quickly; willing to go the extra mile

  • Proficient in MS Office applications; working knowledge of HR and Payroll related software

  • Paycom experience a plus
