The Human Resource Generalist will support the 1800Flowers.com BloomNet and NAPCO Imports organization in Jacksonville, FL. The Generalist will partner with the HR Enterprise team and BloomNet/Napco business in the development of the full talent acquisition life-cycle, process changes, system implementations, benefits and compensation, employee relations, pilot programs, and further develop the 1800Flowers.com Internship program. More specifically, the HR Generalist will assist in managing the new hire orientation and documentation process, as well as managing internal and external postings, internet advertising, and assist in the workforce management and succession planning process. The HR Generalist will also participate in the benefits and compensation process, which includes but is not limited to the open enrollment period, assisting in the FMLA process, and processing of necessary benefits-related documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in developing, posting and organizing job descriptions
Working with the HR Enterprise team to manage talent acquisition
Processing new hire paperwork for payroll and other groups including the creation of offer letters, packets and other necessary documentation
Phone screening and interviewing candidates
Assist in management of 1800Flowers.com intern programs (This includes sourcing candidates, scheduling meetings and attending job fairs with or in lieu of colleagues)
Provide weekly updates through internal communication to hiring managers during Talent Acquisition process
Assist in Talent Acquisition metrics and continued development of 1800Flowers.com best practices
Filing and maintaining employment records for new hires, temps and interns
Research, design and develop continuing diversity partnerships as an EO employer
Performing background checks, education checks and references for new hires
Additional Generalist Responsibilities:
Leave of Absence -- working with Headquarters to manage leave of absence process
Providing forms / follow up documentation / reviewing requests
Filing Worker's Compensation claims
Delivering benefit orientations for new hires or newly eligible employees
Assisting in planning of Wellness initiatives for the Napco location
Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Performs other related duties vas required and assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field
2-4 years of HR experience
MBA a plus but not required
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) required
Extensive experience in Microsoft office suite
Employee relations experience
FMLA management experience a major plus but not required
Extreme attention to detail
