Wake County, North Carolina is seeking its next Human Services Director. Wake County Human Services is the consolidation of programs and services that include social services, public health, and transportation.

The successful candidate will be a proven human services administrator who is a proactive strategic thinker with a record of maintaining and building outstanding community partnerships, transparency, staff engagement, and innovative leadership in human service delivery.

Reporting to the Consolidated Human Services Board and County Administration, the Human Services Director leads a staff of over 1600 to deliver and promote human services, strategies, and initiatives to the citizens of the County. The Human Services Department operates nine divisions with a budget of $158 million. Wake County Government is seeking an experienced HR Trainer to assess and evaluate the County's organizational training needs, identify learning objectives, develop and prepare training plans and materials, and provide training instruction in multiple soft-skill training initiatives. This position will focus on revising and conducting a leadership training program for approximately 800 supervisors and design and develop additional training programs including communication, customer service, coaching, and teambuilding for a broad and diverse population of nearly 4,000 employees. The HR Trainer also facilitates meetings and provides consulting to senior leadership, which may involve addressing organizational needs or identifying opportunities to align, integrate and improve capabilities, structures, systems and processes. The Basics (Required Education and Experience) * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field * Three years of experience in human resources Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) * Three (3) years of experience in adult learning instructional design and delivery, online learning and evaluation methodology * Experience developing and delivering supervisory and leadership training with defined outcomes * Experience facilitating virtual training * Experience working with a Learning Management System * Prior experience managing a successful change project * Proficiency with eLearning content software such as Adobe Captive, conferencing software such as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint How Will We Know You're 'The One'? * Ability to develop and conduct multiple training programs to meet organizational training needs * Ability to prepare training plans/materials and provide instruction for multiple work units in a variety of disciplines * Ability to develop and administer a training evaluation program and make recommendations for change or improvement * Ability to manage and facilitate group discussions * Ability to provide in-depth consultation in the areas of needs assessment, curriculum design for complex training goals, and program evaluation * Ability to provide management with an objective assessment to facilitate organizational analysis and development * Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to multi-task * Ability to integrate with an established training team to develop best practices and strategies * Demonstrated background in adult learning principles, theories, models and the application of these in both principle and practice * Ability to understand and uphold confidentiality * Exceptional customer service skills * Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
