Job Summary:

Responsible for the management and leadership of all corporate Human Resources functions including recruitment, employee relations, retention, compliance with federal and multiple state regulations and laws, compensation and benefits, workplace safety and health, records management, and creation of employee policies and procedures.



Responsibilities:

  • Manage all corporate functions and operations of the Human Resources Department.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and multiple state regulations related to employment and benefits such as FLSA, EEOC, ERISA, OSHA, and FMLA.
  • Develop and maintain various employee welfare activities.
  • Develop recruitment strategies to identify talent within and outside the corporation for all job levels.
  • Oversee the management of the human resources information system.
  • Manage employee recruitment, retention and onboarding programs.
  • Develop and implement corporate training and development programs.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and advise on current trends.
  • Negotiate and implement cost effective benefit programs that ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Provide performance management guidance leadership.
  • Administration of companys wage and salary program.
  • Represent the company in workers compensation claims, unemployment claims and litigation.
  • Counsel, coach and advise the Leadership Team and management in areas of employment law, company policies, disciplinary actions, Performance Improvement Plans and employee motivation.
  • Conduct and manage fact finding investigations concerning matters related to potential violations of the law, organizational policy, non-compliance, unethical behavior and misconduct.
  • Review all performance evaluations to mitigate liability and review wage recommendations.
  • Monitor company safety policies and communicate closely with facilities management.
  • Responsible for compliance with multiple state workers compensation laws.
  • Develop, apply and communicate corporate policies with objectivity and consistency. Ensure proper compliance is followed.
  • Develop and implement performance management strategy.
  • Support Company expansion efforts by recruiting, ensuring compliance and updating policies as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications and

Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; SHRM-CP or SCP preferred.
  • 7 Years of progressive Human Resources and supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and communication skills to successfully engage with all levels within an organization.
  • A passion for problem solving with a high level of collaboration.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Must be proficient with HR technology including HRIS. Computer efficiency with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement, discretion and high integrity. Ability to navigate ambiguous/complex and sensitive issues at all levels within an organization.
  • Excellent knowledge and the ability to interpret federal and state regulations.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other HR programs.
  • Outstanding organization skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations.
  • Familiarity with the mutual insurance company culture is a plus.

The Director coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff; reports to the CHRO; and serves as an important member of the Concord Hospital management team. The Director supervises a team of approximately 17 employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Primary Job Responsibilities: Management of the Human Resources Department: * Encourages the ongoing development of the Human Resources staff. * Selects and supervises Human Resources consultants, attorneys, and training specialists, and coordinates company use of insurance brokers, insurance carriers, pension administrators, and other outside sources. * Establishes departmental measurements and reporting that support the accomplishment of the organization's goals. Training and Development * Defines all Human Resources training programs, and assigns the authority / responsibility of Human Resources and managers within those programs. * Collaborates with the Director of Organizational Development in the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans (PDPs) and employee development programs. Employment * Establishes and leads the standard recruiting practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce. * Leverages the Concord Hospital Employment Brand internally and externally. * Engages in workforce planning. Employee Relations * Formulates and recommends Human Resources policies and objectives with regard to employee relations. * Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws. * Monitors and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline policies of the company. * Oversees recognition activities within the organization. Compensation * Establishes the company wage and salary structure, pay policies, and oversees the variable pay systems within the company including bonuses and raises. Benefits * Working with the CHRO, VP Finance and the CFO, ensures cost effective, employee valued benefits; monitors national benefits environment for options and cost savings. * Recommends changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention. Legal Compliance: * Leads organizational compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) , the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits. Represents organization at hearings etc. HRIS: * Identifies ways to leverage Workday to ensure that people decisions and people strategy can be made based on real time data. * Work collaboratively with Finance on areas of overlap within Workday. Requirements: * Broad knowledge and experience in Human Resources Management including employment law, compensation, organization development, employee relations, Human Resource Information Systems, employment and career development, and training/development. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills. * Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Human Resources staff members. * Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on the management team that provides company leadership and direction. * Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping. Experience with Workday a plus. * General knowledge of various employment laws and practices. Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs. Education and Experience * A Master's Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or a related field. * SPHR or SHRM-SCP certifications preferred * Five to ten years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions. * Specialized training in employment law, compensation, workforce planning, organization development, employee relations, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred. * Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations preferred.
