Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Human Resources Director, Americas West based in Huntington Beach, CA. You will be responsible for leading an HR team supporting approximately 700 employee in 15 locations across the Western part of North America (consisting of 2 Aerospace divisions and a Health Sciences division).

In this role you will provide strategic HR counsel, direction, and partner with a region of Element locations throughout the Americas West region. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, Americas. You will be responsible for definition and execution of HR strategy concerning assigned geography, sector, division and location teams (employee development, compensation, recognition, discipline, employment termination, and employee benefits).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and administration of HR policies, programs, practices and procedures

  • Lead talent management programs to include supporting critical hiring needs, personal development planning, change management, driving performance management programs, and organizational assessments aimed at growing Element's US organization talent

  • Implement and align company culture with the vision and values of the company

  • Guide hiring decisions consistent with HR practices and future skill needs, per approved planning

  • May lead and / or participate in acquisition due diligence and integration work as required

  • Develop, support, and execute regional compensation and benefits strategy

  • Monitor the employee relations climate to insure fair and consistent treatment of all employees consistent with HR policy

  • Lead the performance management process for assigned geography, sector, division, location teams to include guidance on employee performance issues and annual performance review process and merit increase processing

  • Execute talent management processes and drive regional succession planning

  • Advise and assist managers and employees in identifying development opportunities, improvement ideas, and in business problem solving

  • Champion the development of the Element culture to insure alignment with One Element vision and values

  • Facilitate communication and understanding of Element's business vision, operating plan commitments, and other critical programs

  • Optimize organizational effectiveness by delivering key training programs to facilitate understanding and development of people

  • Provide leadership over other HR business partners in assigned group

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum experience level of 7-10 years, with 5 years experience in a HR leadership role

  • Demonstrated success in a HR leadership role. Experience should include recruitment, talent identification, assessment, and management, succession planning, compensation, employment law, and change management

  • Must possess outstanding communication skills, both oral and written

  • Proven track record of managing complex, confidential, and sensitive issues

  • Experience working with multi-site, multi-state organizations is desired; International HR leadership experience is a plus

  • Must be proficient and experienced working with Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Experience working with HRIS software such as ADP, SAP, Workday, People Soft, or Oracle is preferred
