Responsible for human resources office functions including: answering phones, assisting applicants, recruitment, payroll, assisting team members with requests and providing administrative assistance to department leaders.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Answers Human Resources department phone lines

  • Greet applicants, team members, and managers

  • Assists HR Staff, as a generalist in all areas

  • Updates and maintain Human Resources forms, documents, and other materials

  • Processes and reviews weekly payroll forms and reporting

  • Coordinates recruitment efforts including scheduling interviews, conducting interviews and facilitating process with department leaders, job fairs

  • Prepares all paperwork team members (parking permits, uniform issue and ID Cards, collect I-9 documentation)

  • Assists in training and development programs

  • Distributes departmental mail

  • Benefit Enrollment support, DVS Audits, Tracking

  • Basic Workday Assistance for Team Members

  • Assists in employee relations activities including sign-up and mail outs (i.e. birthday cards, Heart of the House communication, etc.).

  • I-9 Verification and merging

  • Payroll support (ie-PTO Verification, New Hires, Assist with payroll issues, required reports, garnishments, referral tracking, Aline Cards, etc.)

  • Training support

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Notifies appropriate individuals fully and completely of all problems and unusual matters of significance

  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, employees

  • Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions

  • Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times

  • Executes emergency standards in accordance with hotel standards

  • Complies with safety regulations policies and procedures

  • Complies with hotel and department standards, policies, and rules

  • Remains current with hotel information and changes

  • Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Excellent communication, organization, and guest relations skills

  • Bi-Lingual-English/ Spanish a must

  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office, Cloud Based Systems, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • HR Workday Experience a plus

  • Typing speed 45 WPM +

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Serves as the Assistant Human Resource Manager (AHRM) of the Human Resources Office at a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) or shared services locations. Under the general supervision of the Human Resource Manager (HRM), the AHRM is responsible for the supervision and implementation of a full range of human resources programs and services for employees located at the facility. The AHRM, in conjunction with the Human Resource Manager, is an advisor to multiple Wardens and/or Associate Wardens within the complex or shared services, on matters relating to the management of the Human Resources Office. The AHRM assists the HRM in supervising Human Resources Specialists in the areas of local labor management, disciplinary and grievance procedures, staffing (recruitment, requesting certificates of eligibles, interviewing, and pre-employment processing), classification, employee benefits, workforce projections, pre-employment, career counseling, the performance evaluation and incentive awards programs, time and attendance, leave administration, compensation, and training functions. Specific training functions will include oversight of local training, tracking mandatory training compliance and evaluations, the mentoring program, and the training needs assessment/annual training plan. Along with all other correctional institution employees, AHRM is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
