Human Resources Coordinator

Position Information

The Human Resources Coordinator ensures delivery of high quality, value-added Human Resources services that align with the goals of University Extension. The University Extension culture is client-centric and thrives with employees who thoroughly understand the value in building trusting relationships with clients, peers and leadership.

Reporting to the HR Director for University Extension, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for completing professional assignments in both the staff and academic scopes. Performs duties related to recruitment, classification, compensation, and employee development. Consults with employees, supervisors and managers regarding HR related issues.

Coordinates the organization's recruitment and selection process, including initiating recruitments, applicant screening, interviewing, and ensuring all required documentation is complete. Conducts data analysis on HR data such as compensation, classification and employment, and develops reports as needed. The HR Coordinator assists with performance management and employee development for University Extension employees.

Education

Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required

Certifications Certification Requirement Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Preferred Society for Human Reources Management (SHRM) - Certification Preferred

Experience

Experience Requirement Minimum of 2 years of related experience. Required Experience working in a client-centric environment.

Required Experience conducting HR data analysis. Required Experience working in a confidential environment and maintaining confidentiality. Required Experience working with a high degree of collaboration and coordination.

Required Human Resources experience at a University. Preferred

Minimum Requirements

Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.

Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills. Has working knowledge of other areas of HR.

Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and/or other related business software programs and systems.

Basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures.

Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.

Proficient in Microsoft suite applications, specifically with Excel and Word.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and knowledge of functional area.

This position manages the human resource processes involving a varied assortment of employee types and levels within the Student Affairs organization.
