We are seeking a Human Resource Coordinator to join our team. This role will oversee the full life employment cycle by assisting employees through their time with us. The coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks that range from supporting payroll and benefits to human resources and training. This team member will report directly to the Vice President of Finance & Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full employee life cycle from application to retirement, including onboarding/offboarding, employee changes, data management, and compliance.

  • Assist managers with the development of job descriptions, job postings, recruitment process, interviews, job offer and annual contract renewals.

  • Manages personnel records, assist managers with annual performance reviews and ensure confidentiality of employee records.

  • Administer and oversee payroll functions, process bi-weekly payroll, and assist employees with all payroll/benefit related questions.

  • Administer fringe benefits and assist employees with enrollment and changes.

  • Reviews payroll budgets, performs reconciliations and validates all expenses are coded correctly.

  • Manages student worker hiring for on-campus jobs and works with the Director of Financial Aid for federal work study opportunities and placement.

  • Works with the Vice President of Finance & Operations to maintain the retirement plan and serves as the main point of contact for employees and retirement vendor.

  • Manages and coordinates employee training, including safety procedures and protocols.

  • Maintains personnel manuals, organizational charts, policy and procedures.

  • Manages compliance with regulatory requirements, state and federal reporting, audits, surveys, certification and trainings.

  • Comply with all applicable institutional, local, state, federal and appropriate laws and regulations.

  • Perform and support other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, HR, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field.

  • Progressive human resource related experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat is required.

  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with others and handle confidential matters.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to be flexible, independent, and multi-tasked based on the needs to support employees, students and the institution.
