The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Since that time, the college has grown into a world-class leader in research and education.

Job Summary

The HR Consultant Sr position serves as a management advisor and facilitator in the application of human resources policies and procedures for assigned unit(s). Assists with implementation of new or revised human resources policies and programs within the unit(s).

This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and staff, Georgia Tech Human Resources management and staff, and Faculty Affairs

This position typically will advise and counsel: unit leadership and staff

This position may supervise assigned staff

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Interpret human resources policies and advise unit management regarding application

Job Duty 2 -

Consult with units by providing advice and guidance related to human resources matters

Job Duty 3 -

Review, analyze and advise management regarding human resources actions and issues (compensation, new hires, promotions, onboarding, offboarding, etc.). Coordinate resolution of exceptions

Job Duty 4 -

Consult with Employee Relations unit in the guidance and facilitation of processing formal employee relations issues, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations

Job Duty 5 -

Serve as key liaison between assigned unit's management, Georgia Tech Human Resources, and Faculty Affairs, regarding all human resources related issues

Job Duty 6 -

Collaborate and partner with Talent Acquisition/Recruiting team on recruiting needs to support onboarding efforts

Job Duty 7 -

Perform other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Manage the faculty review and promotion process for Non-Tenure Track (NTT) faculty. This involves the collection of annual evaluations for NTT faculty from the Schools as well as leading the 3rd year review and promotion process for academic professionals and lecturers.

  • Manage the faculty hiring process for NTT faculty. This includes creating postings, preparing and gathering data for GT-TRACS (Georgia Tech's internal system for faculty credentialing) packages.

  • Responsible for maintaining certain faculty reports, including but not limited to adding new NTT faculty to College spreadsheet, NTT faculty headcounts for various reports, and sending website maintenance and updates to College IT.

  • Maintaining physical NTT personnel and storeroom files.

  • Act as business partner in suggesting and assisting in the implementation of College processes and policies.

  • Attend and participate in college meetings as needed to include Orientation, etc.

  • Nurture a positive working environment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications

This job requires advanced skills in general office administration, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to interpret and apply Institute and Board of Regents policies and procedures that govern faculty administration. Additional required skills: excellent attention to detail; proven ability to manage time and adapt to changing priorities; strong writing and verbal communication; working knowledge of MS Excel; and familiarity with specialized computer applications, personnel and student information systems and electronic document management.

Proposed Salary

Pay Information:

Annual Range: $61,759 - $83,991

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule:

Monday - Friday @ 40 hours; Hybrid

Previous experience in faculty hiring and HRIS systems.
