Salary Range: $48,780 to $64,008 dependent upon education/experience

The Office of Human Resources serves as the operational hub for staff employment activities including the administration of compensation, benefits, recruitments, equal opportunity and non-discrimination, and employee relations. The Human Resource Consultant 3 (HRC3) is responsible for independently providing interpretation and direction to campus staff regarding compensation procedures, staff evaluations, and new hire processing in addition to serving as a resource for collective bargaining agreement (CBA) implementation in assigned areas.
Essential Job Duties:

  • Calculate and create administrative, classified and full-time faculty personnel action (PA) forms for new hires, adjustments, stipends, separations and cashouts; generate administrative and full-time faculty contracts
  • Update and disseminate associate faculty salary level rosters quarterly
  • Create and maintain annual control lists for faculty and administrative positions
  • Review/audit 300+ associate faculty quarterly PAs for salary placement, coding and compensation accuracy
  • Research and document compensation procedures in compliance with OFM and applicable CBAs
  • Independently respond to complex inquiries regarding contract implementation for assigned areas
  • Coordinate the completion of new hire documents for administrative, classified and full-time faculty as well as accurately enter data in the payroll/personnel system
  • Coordinate classified, administrative and faculty evaluation tracking and notification; support supervisors in the create of position expectations and evaluation summaries
  • Respond to and serve as the HR liaison for Unemployment claims
  • Maintain leave without pay tracking and other related adjustments for seniority list annual updates
  • Provide training and assistance to managers and staff regarding HR updates and activities
  • Review and authorize volunteer position descriptions and registrations across campus
  • Represent the Human Resources office on campus and within the community
  • Serve as the backup for full-cycle recruitment coordination as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned of a similar level/nature

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on Business, HR, Social or Organizational Behavioral Sciences OR related
  • Two (2) years of professional human resource experience OR equivalent education/experience

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • MS Office Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word applications
  • Payroll/Personnel Management Systems (PPMS) or equivalent computerized record system
  • Full-cycle payroll processes, and operating in a collective bargaining environment

SKILL IN:

  • Contributing to equity and inclusion by fostering a climate of multicultural awareness and appreciation
  • Calculating complex compensation and creating employment contract documents on a bi-monthly basis
  • Maintaining confidentiality and composure in an open office setting with frequent in-person interactions
  • Handling multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and a strong attention to detail
  • Providing training resources and individual support to supervisors and staff across campus in assigned areas
  • Applying procedures and developing new processes in compliance with policies and established HR precedent
  • Disseminating complex employment policies and procedures in both oral and written English
  • Accurately maintaining record keeping systems, composing correspondence, and compiling data
  • Effective time management with the ability to consistently meet competing deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of the HR team
