Human Resources Business Partner - Deer Park, NY140 West Industry CourtDeer Park, New York, 11729United States Human Resources Business Partner Deer Park, NYThe Opportunity:The Human Resources Representative will provide day-to-day HR Generalist and point-of-contactsupport to multiple plant locations within their Business Unit by administering processes which include but are not limited to recruiting, employee relations, training and employee life-cycle events (on-boarding, compensation, performance management, exit interviews, workers compensation case management, managing unemployment, etc.). This is a growth position that can lead to various upper management positions.How you will impact WestRock:Build positive relations based on the WestRock culture of integrity, respect, accountability, and excellence Work closely with management, supervision and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention

Partner with management in finding, attracting and retaining talent

Ensure effective and timely pre-employment and on-boarding activities and requirements for all new or transferring employees Maintain the Human Resource Information System and Applicant Tracking System to ensure thatmanagement has access to appropriate people information to run the business. Provided additional HR data and reports to managers as requested

Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.

Maintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees,reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required. Provide day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling,career development, disciplinary actions).Ensure that all annual Performance and Talent Reviews are completed in a timely manner and thatdevelopmental activities are administered as appropriate.

Provide ongoing support as needed. Update key talent data in Talent Management System. Assist Management in identifying training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.Works with corporate benefits group to communicate and administer corporate benefits programs to hourly and salaried employees at assigned locations.

Act as Benefits Champion during open enrollment period. Responsible for workers compensation case management and related reporting.What you need to succeed: Bachelors Degree in human resources or related major; advanced degree and SHRM Certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) or PHR /SPHR designation preferred5+ years of HR experience preferred; experience managing HR in a manufacturing environment across multiple locations highly desired

Ability to grow into a higher position within theorganization

Must be a hands on" professional with strong employee relations, leadership development,training, performance management, compliance issues, communications, and staffing. Microsoft office applications suite is required. PeopleSoft or similar HRIS software is a plus Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive

Possess decision-making skills with ability to work independently Strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to provide HR service and support to off shifts, including nights and weekends.
