The Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely in supporting the Director of HR. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.


  • Administer, develop and implement various human resource plans and procedures for the company; prepare and maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual

  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems

  • Administer the compensation program; monitor the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary

  • Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees

  • Develop and maintain affirmative action program; file EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations

  • Conduct new-employee orientations

  • Handle employee relations counseling, and exit interviewing

  • Maintain company org charts and the employee directory

  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed

  • Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database

  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Benefits function

  • Calculate and provides staff with annual fringe benefit allowance; reviews enrollment forms for accuracy and coordinates enrollment with third-party administrator

  • Ensure compliance with COBRA guidelines by preparing letters and other paperwork as directed; receives and records COBRA insurance premium payments

  • Coordinate health, life and disability insurance enrollments and communicates with service providers concerning routine administration of programs

Human Resource function

  • Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements

  • Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion

  • Maintain listing of approved foundation positions along with assigned salary grade levels

  • Processes personnel action forms and ensures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms

  • Maintain budget spreadsheet that includes salaries, payroll taxes and fringe allowances

  • Prepare paperwork required to place employees on payroll and establishes personnel file

  • Assists in hiring process by coordinating job posting on the website, reviewing resumes, and performing telephone interviews and reference checks

  • Maintain the employee handbook with updated resolutions and other pertinent information, as needed

Office Administration

  • Troubleshoot telephone and voice mail system; handles minor repairs; and coordinates repairs with technicians when required

  • Provide training for new and current employees on communication systems, including telephone and voice mail

  • Supervise the receptionist, delegates projects as appropriate and ensures coverage of switchboard in the receptionist's absence

  • Oversee special events for staff by coordinating committees, schedules, and budgeting


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • 3-5 years of human resource experience

  • Honest, reliable, and responsible

  • Excellent verbal and written communication


  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

This job reporst the Vice President of Human Resources.</p><p>The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Communicates with respective business units daily. </li> <li>Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate. </li> <li>Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies. </li> <li>Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
