We are looking for a high-energy, continuous learner, and relationship-focused Human Resources Business Partner to serve as a key partner for McCarthy's Corporate group. We do not use the title "Strategic HR Business Partner" for the cool factor, but for the impact factor. You will use your confidence and business knowledge to guide senior leadership, including challenging partners to think and approach their business and teams differently. You will support leaders with high-level strategy that drives key projects and builds organizational effectiveness. Your success at influencing and guiding the businesses in a positive direction will be noticed, even our CEO will know your role and who you are.

  • Partner with Corporate Department leaders to research, develop, create, and implement HR strategies and practices to build high performing teams, supporting 300+ employees.

  • Support current and future business needs in collaboration with designated business leaders through focuses of development, engagement, motivation, and retention of people.

  • Plan and lead core HR processes and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy in the functional areas of onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, culture, development, and compensation.

  • Leverage strong business acumen to analyze and report on relevant business unit HR metrics and people trends, utilizing data to support ideas and solutions. Work closely with HR Specialist and HR Functional groups to analyze data for areas of focus for Corporate departments and management teams.

  • Provide guidance and input on business unit workforce planning, succession, and talent development needs.

  • Possess confidence, courage, and an ability to challenge the status quo to express a differing point of view and to communicate at multiple levels.

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, providing performance management guidance to leaders.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Organizational Development team members to create and implement best practices to achieve business results.

  • Work alongside the Corporate HR Director to research, develop, create, and implement HR strategies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent HR experience required. Minimum 5 yrs in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role.

  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport, develop relationships and establish credibility and trust.

  • Ability to navigate sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Superior attention to detail, prioritization, and organizational skills, with ability to multi-task.

  • Experience successfully navigating a complex environment utilizing strong communication skills.

  • Must be able to manage and implement region and/or business unit wide programs, processes, and initiatives, ensuring proper communication and effective change management, independently and successfully.

  • Excellent active listening, consultative, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrates a healthy balance of people orientation, drive for results, and analytical skills.

  • Construction or related industry experience is helpful, though not required.

  • This position is in our St. Louis, MO office with the option to work remotely one day a week.

  • Quarterly travel required
