Primary Role of This Position
This is an advisory role that will champion various aspects of the HR function, with a particular focus on fostering employee relations and managing performance management initiatives. In collaboration with the Senior Director, Human Resources, the incumbent will engage with all levels of management to formulate and execute HR strategies that align seamlessly with the organization’s goals and objectives. This role requires adept decision making, critical thinking, and a keen ability to coach and mentor the HR team effectively. The successful candidate should demonstrate the capability to think strategically while ensuring the seamless execution of corporate and departmental initiatives within the day-to-day operations of the HR department.Major Responsibilities
Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization’s Key Performance Attributes and business objectives.
Resolve complex employee relations issues.
Improve work relationships and productivity.
Participate in the development of departmental goals, objectives, and systems to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of HR processes.
Oversee the implementation of Human Resources programs, identifying opportunities for enhancement and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Create and interpret comprehensive reports, transforming data into compelling narratives to inform decision-making processes.
Create HR dashboard/metrics to provide data-driven recommendations.
Update, review, and develop policies to ensure compliance with new legislation and mitigate any potential risk to the business as it relates to people experience.
Assist with leadership development by providing coaching and training to managers, fostering improved communication, feedback, recognition, interaction, and ensure adherence to current legislation, with their respective teams.
Provide support in the recruitment process by partnering with hiring managers.
Undertake other duties as required to contribute to the overall success of the HR function.
Education and Experience
A minimum of 7–10 years of HR experience in managing employee relations issues
Post-secondary diploma/degree in HR Management and/or working towards CHRP designation
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite with a particular focus on Excel
Working knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce
Working knowledge of HRIS systems both implementing and maintaining the database
Strong work ethic
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Confident, consistent decisive personality
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
