Summary:

The Human Resources Business Partner will support Fessler & Bowman's northern offices and team members. Collaborating with the the rest of the HR team, the HR Business Partner will help with the creation and enforcement of company policy and procedure. In addition, the HR Business Partner will assist in employee relations issues and be a point of contact for F&B team members. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the expectations of this position.

Five Key Roles of the HR Business Partner:

  • Create and manage a smooth onboarding process for new hires, including oversight of support functions for designated populations. This should include coordination with the Talent Acquisition Specialists and onboarding discussions with the hiring managers, conducting new hire orientation, check-in meetings, and oversight of HR Coordinator support in the process.

  • Management of the annual and new hire benefit enrollment process including answering questions and follow-up for completion.

  • Management of the semi-annual performance evaluation process for designated populations, including reporting to the Regional HR Manager.

  • Management of performance and disciplinary issues, including documentation and facilitation of disciplinary actions, Performance Improvement Plans, and terminations when required.

  • Support company reporting, including federal reporting, compliance reporting, and aiding regional teams through internal reporting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Company's commitment to EEO and Affirmative Action strategy and compliance.

  • Collaborates with the HR Director regarding continuous process improvement and strategic projects within the human resources function.

  • Maintaining job descriptions- updating and storing in HR drive and ATS.

  • Assist HR Department in the creation and development of policies and procedures.

  • Conduct investigations and assist in employee relations issues.

  • Conduct and process employee terminations, including exit interviews.

  • Develop written communications in English and Spanish, including job ads, new hire paperwork, policies, etc.

  • Point of contact for employees regarding HR related concerns.

  • Communicating and upholding the Company's commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team.

  • Other relevant tasks as assigned.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred

  • 4+ years of HR or recruiting experience required

  • 1+ years experience in the construction industry preferred

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Travel:

Travel may be required- this could include, but is not limited to, career fairs, union halls, job sites and regional offices. F&B will compensate for travel when applicable.

Work Environment:

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will be subject to various work environments. These environments include office and field settings. Employee must be comfortable with sitting for an extended period.
