The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a trusted partner, progressive thinker, and strategist to business leaders for all HR matters. As an HRBP, you'll align North American HR programs with business strategy and relevant employment laws and regulations. You'll work with business leaders to effectively design their organization to optimize talent that deliver business results. You'll play an integral role in advising, coaching, and supporting leaders to maximize people performance, by effectively leading change management initiatives, encouraging teamwork, and engaging and developing talent.
By joining Element, you will become a valued member of our Human Resources team, forming part of our global team of HR professionals located across the US, Canada, Mexico and Australia.
Identify needs, develop solutions - engaging HR COE teams as appropriate - and implement plans in support of key business needs in a dynamic, changing environment
Influence enterprise HR program design (performance management, compensation planning, engagement strategies, and key talent processes such as talent reviews and succession planning, etc.) and lead the implementation of these programs with business leaders and HR COE leaders.
Consult with leaders to ensure alignment of performance management with pay-for-performance recommendations and reward and recognition programs.
Act as advocate and advisor to employees and leaders regarding career and leadership development
Develop investigation plans, conduct complex investigations, make recommendations, and oversee the implementation of decisions that lead to the fair and consistent resolution of issues and complaints.
Manage complex Employee Relations matters, including performance management, terminations, restructuring, workplace drug/alcohol/violence matters, conflict resolution, etc.
Work with legal counsel to ensure compliance with applicable US federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, as well as Canadian employment laws and regulations
Develop and implement comprehensive staffing plans for the organization and proactively partner with Talent Acquisition team on strategies to attract top talent.
Lead HR projects and support integration activities and other M&A related responsibilities.
Bachelor's Degree, or in lieu of a degree, 15 years of progressive HR experience supporting business leaders with complex HR initiatives
10 years relevant experience in Human Resources, including experience in organization design, talent assessment and development, leadership coaching, change management, recruitment, job and compensation program design, employee relations, and managing complex/sensitive workplace investigations.
Strong working knowledge of US/Canadian federal and state/provincial employment laws and regulations and the ability to appropriately identify employment/labor law issues.
Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills, especially in situations that are sensitive, complex and/or ambiguous
Ability to educate, influence and indirectly lead a large range of individuals across multiple HR and business functions
Proven success establishing collaborative relationships with individuals at all levels and in all parts of the organization
Demonstrated ability to drive the HR strategic agenda using knowledge of the organization and its employees
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Change agent and role model for leading cultural change.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action
Strong time management, project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects/matters to closure
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Must be willing to travel approx. 25% of the time
