As the HR Business Partner for our Philadelphia, PA site, you'll deliver HR counsel and drive successful programs in the area of talent acquisition, employee relations, consultation, retention, and performance management.


  • Support assigned business groups providing consultation and delivery of HR programs and services.

  • Participates as a member of client leadership teams in establishing department strategies and plans, and resolving business challenges.

  • Provides advice and consultation to management on HR issues, policies, and issue resolution.

  • Provide leadership in employee relations issues. Work with managers and employees in identifying and addressing performance related issues. Provide mentorship and support to managers on corrective actions issued.

  • Partner with hiring managers in developing recruitments and sourcing strategies. Assist hiring managers in the candidate selections and offer process.

  • In collaboration with Development agenda, and implement programs to address those needs and ensure individuals and the organization have the skills/ knowledge needed for success.

  • Interpret policies and provide counsel and guidance to managers and employees concerning work related issues.

  • Educate and advise management on effective application of AstraZeneca's Compensation philosophy and programs.

  • Educate and support management in the successful implementation of AstraZeneca's performance management policies and programs.

  • Identify key trends in the business supported and collaborate with members of HR team to provide recommendations and solutions.

  • Conduct activities and interactions consistent with Company values and in compliance with the Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards relevant to your role.


  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5-8 years' experience as an HR Generalist with a strong background in core HR functions preferred. Must have experience supporting senior management.

  • Flexibility to work through conflicts, and persuasively influence outcomes.

  • Can optimally cope with change and is comfortable changing direction and acting without complete information. Can effectively lead change initiatives and bring others along in the change process.

  • Open, honest, fair- a person of integrity who demonstrates respect for all individuals; someone who can be trusted and depended on for guidance.

  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with business clients and gains respect and trust.

  • Capable of resolving sensitive concerns that present business risk in diplomatic manner.

  • Seeks new and outstanding ideas and is skilled at implementing them.

  • Knowledge of employee relations principles, practices, methods, and programs.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrable ability to effectively present information to all levels of an organization.

  • Strong proven project management skills and experience.

  • Collaboration orientation in a fast-paced environment.


  • Master's Degree

  • HR certificate

  • Pharmaceutical experience

  • Manufacturing or GMP experience

The Philadelphia, PA site manufactures a life-saving influenza vaccine. Our product is aseptically filled into sprayers for nasal administration. The site consists of two geographic locations - a facility at Red Lion Road in NE Philadelphia and the Bensalem storage and distribution facility. The facilities are about 8 miles apart and both are situated close to I-95, the city of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia International Airport.
