As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (R&P) GS-0203-7, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
Prepares recurring and new vacancy announcement for clerical, technical, and lower graded administrative positions.
Determines the area of consideration according to Merit Promotion Plan requirements and required statements and notices needed on the announcement.
Rates applications for clerical, technical, and administrative positions through GS-9 and Wage grade positions.
Determines points to be assigned for veteran's preference.
Provides technical assistance and support to higher level staffing specialist in a variety of recruitment and staffing activities. Provides orientation to new employees regarding employee benefits, payroll, creditable service, and retirement.
Prepares reports, maintains announcement files and Official Personnel Files.
Enter personnel, payroll, and performance data into automated personnel folders.Maintain and ensure accuracy of all data entered.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
GS-7: I possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level performing a full range of recruitment and placement technical duties for human resources, including developing vacancies, entering vacancies into an automated system; creating merit promotion files; reviewing, accepting and processing applications/resumes for vacancies; explaining employment procedures; processing various human resources actions; reviewing supporting documents for completion and completing appointment paperwork for new hires, explaining the Federal employee benefits, allowances, payday, etc. These examples are not all inclusive (refer to the summary of duties for specialized experience).(Your resume must support this experience).
