SUMMARY:

The Human Resources (HR) Assistant is responsible for providing essential support to the HR department, contribute to the smooth functioning of HR processes, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations while fostering a positive employee experience within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • All Staff Members perform in accordance with Estes Park Health's Mission, Vision and Values

  • As the first point of contact for HR inquiries, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that employees, supervisors, and HR colleagues receive timely and accurate assistance.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and databases, including personnel files, HRIS, and other HR systems.

  • Process paperwork related to hiring, terminations, promotions, transfers, and other employee changes.

  • Assist with employee relations matters by addressing inquiries from employees regarding HR policies and procedures and facilitating communication between employees and HR personnel.

  • Organize and maintain HR files, both electronic and physical, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

  • Assist in drafting and distributing HR-related correspondence, such as offer letters, employment contracts, and internal memos.

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies by staying updated on changes and assisting in policy implementation.

  • Assist in conducting audits and reviews to ensure compliance with HR policies and regulations.

  • Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, conducting initial screenings, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires.

  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing new hire paperwork, conducting orientation sessions, and facilitating the completion of required forms.

  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries related to health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.

  • Coordinate with benefits providers and assist in the resolution of benefits-related issues or discrepancies.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related paperwork and enrollment forms

  • Provide administrative support for payroll processing, including verifying timesheets, inputting payroll data, and addressing payroll-related inquiries from employees.

  • Help the Payroll Clerk respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, deductions, and tax-related issues.

  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

  • All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITITES:

  • Understanding of basic HR principles, policies, and procedures related to recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance.

  • Familiarity with relevant federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

  • Proficiency in using HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other HR-related software applications for data management, payroll processing, benefits administration, and reporting.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees, managers, and external stakeholders, and to prepare HR-related documents and correspondence.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and propose solutions to HR-related challenges and inquiries.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity in HR-related matters.

  • A service-oriented approach with a commitment to meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders, understanding their perspectives, and delivering high-quality HR support and solutions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Highschool diploma required, higher education preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Previous experience in an HR administrative role preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.

PAY RANGE:

$18.36-$25.01 per hour
