You will provide administrative and clerical support for human resources management functions.
Position is located in the Talent Group within the Workforce and Inclusion Directorate.

You will perform a wide range of human resources technical assistance to managers, supervisors, employees, and higher graded specialists.
Some of the duties you will perform include, but are not limited to:
Code a wide variety of personnel action requests (i.e., new hires, separations, benefits, etc.) and complete required tasks associated with proper processing and legally approving personnel actions.
Apply laws, regulations, and policies that pertain to pay setting; and advise managers and supervisors regarding potential pay ramifications of proposed personnel actions.
Prepare vacancy announcements in USAStaffing to support summer, seasonal, and/or temporary employment programs.
Determine and advise on employee's service computation dates, leave administration, eligibility for benefits and retirement.
Utilize a variety of computerized automated software systems such as USAJOBS, USAStaffing, Federal Personnel Payroll System (FPPS), timekeeping programs, etc. to perform recruitment and placement activities.
Provide customer service and assistance and explains rules and regulations to applicants and employees who may not be familiar with human resources practices and procedures.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.All qualifications must be met by 11:59 PM EST when the 'applicant cut-off' is reached (which may be sooner than 05/01/2024).
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted.
An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience.
For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
CTAP/ICTAP: CTAP/ICTAP provides placement assistance to permanent Federal employees who are surplus, displaced, or involuntarily separated. Applicants claiming CTAP/ICTAP eligibility must submit a copy of their most recent performance appraisal, proof of eligibility, and most current SF-50 noting position, grade level, and duty location with their application. To be considered under CTAP/ICTAP, applicants must be well-qualified (i.e., meet the minimum qualification requirements, including any selective placement factors; education, and experience requirements), score at least 85 on the assessment questionnaire, and be able to perform the duties of the position upon entry.
