Responsibilities

This position is located in either Boston, MA or Philadelphia, PA or Lakewood, CO and works for the Northeast Region Servicing Human Resources Office (SHRO).

  • The incumbent of this position works in personnel action processing, provides technical assistance to managers, supervisors, employees and higher-grade specialists and applies laws, regulations.

  • Receives and processes requests for a variety of personnel actions and completes required tasks associated with processing and legally approving personnel actions.

  • Ensures accuracy and appropriateness of coding and associated documentation.

  • Initiates all types of personnel actions in the automated personnel processing system as required.

  • Maintain controls to ensure that requested actions are initiated and processed in a timely manner.

  • Uploads documents to the Electronic Official Personnel File (eOPF).

Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

  • Probationary Period: If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.

  • Government Charge Card: You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience.

EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: providing technical and administrative support for human resources personnel, involving the application of personnel management principles, concepts, practices and techniques in HR functions such as processing personnel actions, and pay administration.

You must include hours per week worked.

EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: providing technical and administrative support for a human resources, personnel, or administrative office involving the application of personnel management principles, concepts, practices and techniques in HR functions including personnel processing and records maintenance, pay administration, and employee benefits.

You must include hours per week worked.

You Must Provide Performance Appraisal.
