Human Resources Assistant Job Summary Provides support to the Human Resources department including but not limited to employment, onboarding, employee relations and employee benefits. Supports and fosters the mission of the organization and its commitment to organ, eye, tissue, and blood donation.

Status: Full time, 40 hours per week Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm Pay: $21.47-$28.63/hr pay will commensurate based on education and experience Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred OR Associate degree and one-year experience required OR Two years of HR experience.

Experience: 1-year Human Resources experience preferred. HRIS experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to think critically, manage time appropriately, and prioritize while remaining adaptable and flexible. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills including communicating with diverse individuals and a continuous focus on customer service.

Professional appearance, demeanor, and discretionary skills necessary to handle confidential information. Essential Job Functions: Screens all applicants to determine qualifications and schedules interviews with hiring manager and human resources representative.

Ensures all employment actions are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Conducts reference and criminal background checks for potential hires. Sends out offer letters ensuring all required information is included and accurate and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Assists with new hire onboarding and orientation. Serves as a back-up, as needed. Creates new hire personnel file.

Office support for supply orders, copying, filing, follow-up letters, mailings, faxing, handbook, SOP updates, and basic spreadsheet creation and maintenance: Tracks and files all disciplinary actions, speeding alerts, referral bonuses, and other tracked wage increases. Tracks employee birthdays, sends out notifications and arranges birthday celebrations.

Completes requested employment verifications in a timely manner. Sends employee status change notifications to appropriate departments. Completes compensation and status change forms, wage theft, and employee change letters.

Create forms, reviews SOP’s, Tracks changes, and is administrator for IQM. Assists in editing job descriptions during annual review and as needed. Meets with managers to understand job functions.

May also include obtaining employee signatures and filing of signed job description. Assists in designated job fairs, colleges, or training centers to present ConnectLife’s opportunities and mission to students, trainees, or job applicants as needed. Acts as a resource to interpret and explain HR policies, procedures and programs to staff as needed.

Provides excellent interpersonal, customer service, and HR support to all departments. Conducts monthly badge audit reports and communicates issues to appropriate managers. Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR (Healthcare reform, DOL, AOPO, etc.). May be assigned to committees, special projects, or teams as a representative of HR or ConnectLife.
