Human Resources Analyst 9-P11

The Michigan Civil Service Commission is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the Michigan State Police as a Human Resources Analyst who excels in customer service; can work both independently and as part of a small team; and has exemplary analytic and problem-solving skills.  This position will perform a range of confidential disability management related tasks on behalf of department members and will be discerning and compassionate.  This position will also oversee and administer several of the Department's health and safety programs.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Experience working with leave programs such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, workers' disability compensation insurance, parental leaves, medical leaves, etc.

• An understanding of state and federal statues related to disability leaves of absence.

• The ability to analyze internal rules and regulations in conjunction with union collective bargaining agreements as they relate to federal and state statutes related to disability.

• A strong work ethic and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

• Excellent communication skills, particularly with respect to members who may be dealing with a life-changing event.

Position Description

This position generally requires the education acquired through possession of a bachelor's degree in any major. Specific information on the education and experience required for different class levels in the job specifications of the Human Resources Analyst class.
