The Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) has a current opening for a Human Resource Recruiter at Central Office in Boise. This position must provide exceptional communication to internal and external customers, demonstrate strong organizational skills, and have flexibility to shift priorities. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills, the ability to solve complex issues and create innovative ways to enhance recruitment efforts.

Hiring lists may be created from open competitive, IDOC Department Promotional, or Statewide promotional applicants. The applications may also be used for future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months.

Work with hiring managers to write exams and create job announcements
Correspond with applicants and current employees on employment and promotional opportunities
Develop innovative solutions for recruitment
Network with colleges and universities, community organizations, and special interest groups to enhance recruitment efforts
Counsel employees, applicants and public on career opportunities at IDOC
Provide consultation and guidance to managers and supervisors on HR related issues to include employee performance, problem solving, recruitment, hiring, and selection processes
Develop structured interviews to ensure compliance with EEO Laws
Develop strategies to enhance recruitment and coordinates testing and screening activities
Ensure compliance with IDAPA for Academy POST participation
Good knowledge of human resource administration
Good knowledge of equal employment opportunity/affirmative action concepts and legal requirements
Experience interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and policies
Experience counseling employees on human resource matters
Good knowledge and experience in employee recruitment methods
Experience with IDAPA for Academy POST participation
To be hired, candidates will have a history and background supportive of department mission goals and will be subject to:
Completing a Background Investigation Questionnaire and pre-employment drug testing
Having a federal and state criminal background check to include fingerprints
Having a history of law-abiding behavior
Felonies, misdemeanors, illegal drug usage, DUI's, adverse driving convictions and employment history may make you ineligible for employment
Non-hiring restrictions are in place for candidates who:
Have been convicted of Domestic Violence or similar types of violent behaviors
Have a dishonorable discharge from military service
Currently are using, dealing or are associated with illegal drugs
Have close friends or relatives under IDOC care & custody
Are currently under IDOC supervision or probation (must be released from IDOC supervision or probation for at least one year)
You will receive a score based on your education and experience in the answers to the exam. A minimum score of 52 is required to pass. Notification of your test results will be available online when the exam review process has been completed.
