Job Duties
The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR), located in Burkeville, VA is recruiting for a Recruitment and Employment Specialist. VCBR is a behavioral treatment center recognized for securely housing and treating civilly committed sex offenders. Residents of VCBR are former DOC inmates that undergo extensive treatment aimed at reducing their risk so that they can be returned to the community, where they will be closely supervised.
This position provides professional HR support, guidance, consultation and service in the recruitment, employment and employee relations areas. Responsibilities include: full cycle recruiting, develop job announcements, review interview documents for compliance with established selection policy and procedures; review employment applications to determine if applicants meet qualifications; refer applicants for interviews; conduct applicant telephone screening, assist and/or conduct employment interviews; reference checks; assist with starting pay compensations/classification determinations; attend job fairs, process new-hire paperwork; maintain accurate recruit files; assist with a wide range of activities related to employee/labor relations and staffing functions; the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment; and strong organizational and change management skills applied to workforce issues.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have direct experience utilizing employment practices/recruitment and employee relations processes.
Additional Considerations
Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP); experience working in large, and complex public entity with diverse employee populations is preferred.
