We are currently seeking a HR Generalist to be responsible for a variety of duties to ensure HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position will play dual roles as support to local team members, including managers, and administratively, by supporting other operational tasks as necessary under the direction of the HR Manager. This role will be located at our Nashville location and will provide support to Mount Juliet.

The ideal candidate likes a variety of work, has a strong knowledge of HR principles, enjoys administrative work, and appreciates the importance of timeliness, accuracy and providing great customer service to our team members.

What You'll Do

Specific duties may include:

  • Interact with managers and team members to answer questions and clarify policies & processes

  • Data entry and auditing to ensure data integrity in various HR systems

  • Process payroll weekly within time and attendance software including the payroll interface

  • Work with the HR manager and team to improve efficiencies and streamline processes

  • Responsible for post-offer drug test and background check processes for new hires

  • May assist with the random drug testing process

  • Conduct new hire orientation and exit interviews

  • Assist managers with attendance administration and documentation

  • Ad-hoc requests and projects as directed by manager

  • Aid in employee relations as a support role

  • Assist in the administration of FMLA

  • Assist in the administration of Worker's Comp and non-injury accident reporting and processing

  • Encourage employee engagement through different team member programs

What We're Looking For

This role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, and 3+ years of experience working in an HR capacity. Other qualifications include:

  • Customer service attitude and ability to maintain positive work relationships with team members; professional, positive attitude is a must

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws

  • Exercises good judgment, demonstrates solid problem solving skills

  • Ability to manage work with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple competing projects in an ever changing environment

  • Ability to be part of a team working together to reach common goals

  • Collaborative HR professional with the ability to build and maintain positive work relationships with a variety of internal customers

  • Ability to work through ambiguous and unique situations while managing confidential information/documents

  • Organized, strong attention to detail, understands the importance of accuracy

  • Strong understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and demonstrated technical aptitude to learn other systems

  • Prior hands-on experience with HR/payroll systems is preferred

  • Ability to travel via auto in local area to multiple sites
