About the Job:
Located at our New Britain Manufacturing facility, the team is looking for an Human Resource Generalist to act as a business partner and change agent to build organizational capability and bench strength, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills, ethics, integrity, and accountability.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business with the highest degree of integrity and discretion.
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with union representatives.
Champion benefit programs; i.e., annual enrollment, wellness, etc.
Maintain accurate employee related records in PeopleSoft and personnel files.
Conduct new hire on-boarding, training, and exit interviews for employees as required.
Administer workers' compensation program, including working with all parties to aggressively manage and support transitional duty and return to work programs.
Back-up for payroll, leaves of absence, and scheduling hourly performance appraisals.
Participate in continuous improvement projects; i.e., Kaizens & policy updates (Handbook).
Contribute to successful EHS&S, quality, service level and productivity goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an HR Generalist with a bachelor's degree in related field required
Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Polish is a plus
Experience in a Union Manufacturing or Distribution environment preferred
Thorough knowledge of wide range of HR/legal standards & regulations, programs, processes, and tools in all areas ranging from recruitment, benefits, training, and payroll
Self-starting, results-oriented individual who is team oriented
Effective organization, time management, and verbal/written communication skills
Able to handle multiple projects and priorities as well as deal with ambiguity
Demonstrates a strong attention to detail
Advanced computer literacy, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Willing to travel occasionally
