About the Job:

Located at our New Britain Manufacturing facility, the team is looking for an Human Resource Generalist to act as a business partner and change agent to build organizational capability and bench strength, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills, ethics, integrity, and accountability.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business with the highest degree of integrity and discretion.

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with union representatives.

  • Champion benefit programs; i.e., annual enrollment, wellness, etc.

  • Maintain accurate employee related records in PeopleSoft and personnel files.

  • Conduct new hire on-boarding, training, and exit interviews for employees as required.

  • Administer workers' compensation program, including working with all parties to aggressively manage and support transitional duty and return to work programs.

  • Back-up for payroll, leaves of absence, and scheduling hourly performance appraisals.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects; i.e., Kaizens & policy updates (Handbook).

  • Contribute to successful EHS&S, quality, service level and productivity goals.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an HR Generalist with a bachelor's degree in related field required

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Polish is a plus

  • Experience in a Union Manufacturing or Distribution environment preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of wide range of HR/legal standards & regulations, programs, processes, and tools in all areas ranging from recruitment, benefits, training, and payroll

  • Self-starting, results-oriented individual who is team oriented

  • Effective organization, time management, and verbal/written communication skills

  • Able to handle multiple projects and priorities as well as deal with ambiguity

  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail

  • Advanced computer literacy, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Willing to travel occasionally
