In this exciting role, the Human Resources Generalist supports the organization by implementing and administering human resources programs or policies. Provide day-to-day support in human resources, specifically in the area of labor and employee relations. Support will also include recruiting and staffing, administration of compensation and benefits programs, training and development, labor negotiations support, rewards and recognition programs, employee communications, and affirmative action/equal employment opportunity compliance.
This position will serve Rheem's HTPG division, located in Scottsboro, AL.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations to include communication of collective bargaining agreement terms.
Trains managers and supervisors on topics related to labor relations, such as working conditions, including grievance or complaint procedures.
Investigates, evaluates, and responds to union grievances and employee relations issues.
Schedule or coordinate the details of grievance hearings and other labor/employee relations matters.
Monitor company and workforce adherence to labor agreement.
Assist in resolutions for collective bargaining or other labor/employee matters.
Assist in drafting contract proposals and counter-proposals for collective bargaining and other labor negotiations.
Interpret and apply contractual agreements for managers and supervisors engaged in labor relations processes.
Review employee disciplinary actions such as written reprimands, suspensions, and terminations.
Mediate discussions between company and labor representatives.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Administers various human resource plans and procedures for organization personnel.
Assists in recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees.
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
WHAT YOU NEED
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or related field with 4 to 7 years' experience.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.
Broad knowledge of human resource management principals
Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.
HRIS system experience with such applications such as Ultimate/UltiPro, Oracle, Kronos, SAP, ADP.
