Responsible for the human resource needs of supported business unit(s) and implementation of best practices to support achievement of corporate business objectives. Involvement includes but is not limited to recruitment for exempt and non-exempt level positions, employee and labor relations, job evaluations, benefit administration, organization development, training, affirmative action, HRIS and special projects. Provides input and assists in the development of policies and procedures and is responsible to ensure consistent application of all policies and procedures within the supported business unit.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Works directly with management and supervisors to effectively promote positive employee relations.
Partners with leaders to support employer of choice and Greenheck Operations Leadership Development (GOLD) initiatives.
Insures compliance with state and federal laws through efficient administration of company HR policies, procedures, programs and initiatives.
Maintains a positive working relationship with the local union to address labor relations issues, grievances, etc. in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in labor management meetings and contract negotiations.
Leads the recruitment and selection efforts across all levels of the business unit. Leads news hire orientation sessions.
Conducts employee meetings and assists in training and development sessions on various topics as needed.
Maintains visibility with all employees and addresses any issues and concerns that are identified in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with performance reviews and ensures the development and implementation of specific development plans to address performance issues.
Participates in employee engagement committee planning & coordinate activities such as a company picnics and holiday parties.
Partners with leaders to support and lead community engagement initiatives.
Participates in operations meeting within the business and advises management on all Human Resource related topics.
Other administrative duties including but not limited to; time & attendance admin, HRIS, benefits and payroll support.
A Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field;
Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a HR generalist role or equivalent;
Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment; working in a unionized environment preferred.
Direct hands on experience in all aspects of Human Resources including leadership and employee development, recruitment, compensation, labor relations, employee relations, and employment law;
Ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues.
Ability to support 3 shifts and ability to flex schedule for business needs.
PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
Experience with HRIS, ideally SAP & Successfactors.
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining effective relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude required.
Proficient in Microsoft word, excel & power point.
